I am a Yinwum and Anathanguyth man with traditional lands on the Central and Western Cape York Peninsula, Queensland. I was Born in Cairns, Queensland and moved to Brisbane at the age of 12 then to Ipswich the following year.

I am a self-taught artist who started creating artwork while at the age of 15. After disengaging with the education system, I continued to hone his skills and create artwork on different mediums.

I continued to create art as a hobby in my spare time and promotion was through word of mouth referrals. In 2017 I registered Picqui Arts as a business. Over the next few years I approached a small number of galleries, and started supplying one gallery regularly.

I am currently working towards my first solo exhibition “Journeys” to be held in Ipswich with opening day scheduled for 14th August 2021.

Artist Statement:

“I believe that our ‘old people’, or ancestors talk to me and channel through me to create my artwork. During the creation process I allow myself to relax to enable that inspiration to come through. I create artwork that tell stories of connection to land, winds and waters and gain inspiration through life, love, land, family and community.”
